The worms have arrived

Yesterday we looked at a white bucket and tried to predict what was inside. We could see through the dark mesh at the top of the bucket. Once we had our idea we met in TodaysMeet, a great web tool, to share our predictions. We love typing our ideas and seeing them on the SmartBoard. It is easy to get to the website because we use QR codes. We love scanning QR codes.
Today Ms. Leech opened up the bucket and pulled out lots of worms. They were all different sizes. We watched them crawl around on paper towels on the rainbow table. We used big magnifying glasses and iPads to film them. Some tried to escape. Some of us really wanted to touch and hold the worms. Ms. Leech gave us blue gloves so that we could hold the worms. We also talked about being gentle with them because they are living creatures. We tried to feed them pear pieces. We compared the sizes and watched them wiggle. Some of us put pictures on our blogs.
Tomorrow Ms. Leech is going to put the worms in our aquarium and then we can see them better. We are going to give them composte food. We are going to learn about worms.
Do you like worms? Do you have worms in your classroom?

We are watching the worms wiggle around.

Do you think that worms like pears?

Look at this worm!

There are lots of worms! Some are very small and some are very big.
