On Tuesday, I spent the day in the classroom getting it ready for the first day of school. Every year I like to change around the classroom so that it is a new start to a new year. In June, I put all of the furniture to one side of the room and then I put all the rest of my belongings on the shelves in the coat room. This is what the room looked like yesterday morning.

I am not finished setting up the classroom yet. I will go in on Friday to do the finishing touches. I will be putting clips on each desk to hold the book bags and math tool kits. I will also paper the bulletin boards and tidy up the desk.
I am very excited to meet my new grade one students next week. I hope that you enjoy your grade one classroom.
